Thank you to all my blogger friends for all of your kind words and thoughts. I have been touched by them all and am grateful to have this wonderful online community.
I'm coming back with something that is of importance to me. Since I come from an environmental background, conservation is not just a word - it's a way of life. It's not easy but every little thing that we humans can do Can and Will make a difference.
Many of us have already begun using cloth bags when grocery shopping. But consider using them at any and all stores. I still see so many people using plastic bags everywhere. But if only 1 out of every 5 people makes an effort to stop using plastic bags, we will make a difference and have a great impact on our future. Please buy cloth reusable bags and take them with you to every store you go to. I have a large purse and many times I will just dump stuff into my bag to save on plastic. Many places in the world have banned plastic bags. If China can do it, then so can we. It isn't always easy to remember to do, but let's all be more vigilant. It will help us save the world.

Great reminder!
I agree with you 100%! Instead of gift bags for birthdays, I try to give reusable bags with the gifts in them so it can be reused!
Also, keep a few reusable bags in your car, in case you make some unscheduled stops! I love conservation posts! Kim above me has had some great ones too!
You're preaching to the choir! In Ireland you are charged if the Store has to provide a bag. It's a very effective way to remind everyone to bring their own with them.
Hey Janey — in some parts of mailand UK they attack you with whips.
I have a selection of cloth bags which, in addition to being more environmentally friendly than their plastic counterparts, are not dangerous to cats that want to sleep in them.
And (blows own horn) I stopped wearing Huggies at 17.
I choose paper where I have a choice but I often don't do much toward this hazard. I'll try to be better.
Yes yes yes!!! I highly recommend http://baggubag.com bags -- they are small enough to put in your back pocket. I carry three in my purse. They're so small and light, but are huge and sturdy when expanded.
You are so right. We have a half dozen reusable bags in each car, and yet much of the time I forget to bring them into the store.
wow. Thanks for this reminder.
I use cloth bags for groceries but I often forget to take them to the mall. Thanks for reminding me!
We reuse plastic bags, at least. I bring lots of them to the library, where people who forgot to bring their own bag (or didn't realize how much stuff they were going to check out,) get some use out of them.
I hate plastic bags. I use them as rarely as I can. I've bought myself a big cloth bag and use it whenever I go shopping: be it for food, clothes or otherwise.
But. I have noticed I sometimes get really funny looks from sales people when I refuse their plastic bags. They look at me as if I'm some sort of freak!! :D
What JaneyV said. I decline plastic bags in stores, I've got three cloth bags and a canvas bag, and I nag like the dickens to get husband and daughters to remember to take them when they go shopping.
This is a problem that will not go away until we start to take it VERY seriously.
And don't get me started on disposable diapers...
