To lighten things up, I am playing some clips from the Best Movie Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire by the brilliant Danny Boyle. I loved Trainspotting, but with Slumdog I think Danny Boyle has certified his brilliance. This is one of my absolute favorite movies because it makes you cry and laugh, it breaks your heart and makes you shout with joy. If you haven't seen it, please catch it before it leaves the theaters. It is a marvelous experience. So here is the Oscar winning song that plays in the end credits with a Bollywood dance.
And here is my favorite scene:
It is written...
Oh, I cannot wait for this movie to come out in my area! I really want to see it.
ReplyDeleteI think I can see it this week if I drive over to Canada. I might (although with the exchange it ends up costing me about twice as much to go see a movie.)
ReplyDeleteand you remidn me that I never got around to seeing Trainspotting.
I love that song too! A. R. Rahman rocks. Gulzar too (he wrote the lyrics). And I really thought the show they put on with the three nominated songs was awesome. Especially the drum dudes and dudettes.
ReplyDeleteI want to see it! Maybe it will come to Korea.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing that video, Iwant to see it. Thanks Ello! :)
ReplyDeleteCrap. It will take AGES for that movie to come here. I'll have to wait God-knows-how-long.
ReplyDeletehello ello...i have to totally agree with you. i loved this movie and the way they ended it with the bollywood dancing...such an enjoyable movie!
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen it - yet. My sister went and saw it and loved it. I'll have to put it on the calendar but it's a tough time - end of basketball season and all.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even see this movie come out and then saw all of the awards it got during Oscar night, and I really want to see it. I like Indian movies. I'm going to have to catch it.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved it. We'll get the DVD as soon as it comes out.
ReplyDeleteDoes it really cost more to cross the border into Canada? I thought the exchange rate worked in your favour, not ours...
